Buarcos

At one end of Figueira da Foz is Buarcos, a former fishing village that, in its time, was more important than Figueira. We walked there this morning, and back again, and then, the other way to the Mondego River this afternoon - well over Sharon's aim of 10,000 steps.

The yellow building on the far right is the famous San Remo ice-cream parlour, where you can get the most amazing ice-cream sundaes.

Extra of the small collection of blue sea bits I picked up for Sharon - spot the odd thing out.

Gratefuls:
- a relaxing day, and no rain, though it was predicted
- good company
- another chat with Leyna, still in hospital and desperate to get home so she can sleep; don't think nurses make very patient patients
