A real surprise!

A lovely day with plenty of sunshine ..... it almost felt like summer again! :-)

Got a surprise in the morning when a Small Tortoiseshell butterfly visited the garden (Extra)

Had a very pleasant wander "up the road" this afternoon ..... unfortunately the water levels have not gone down at all & are still high (pictured yesterday)

As we were heading home we walked through the wood to check on the pond ...... we were amazed to see several Common Darters flitting about!

Managed to get this one on the bench enjoying the warmth of the sun ..... such a wonderful surprise to see it so late in the year :-)
