Such a destructive force!

Thankfully the rain has finally stopped! We had over a month's worth of rain in one day!

There is no longer a lake outside the back gate .... it has finally drained away though the floor of the garage is still wet.

We decided to head out for a walk "up the road" this afternoon to see if there was much damage.

There is a ditch that runs along the side of the road .... the houses there have a bridge to cross into their properties. The top image is one of these though the water is so deep you cannot tell it is a bridge! Never seen the water level so high!

Bottom picture is the river ...... badly silted & very high .... we are on Flood Alert but no worse so far ..... fingers crossed!

There were broken branches & debris strewn in the road .... also the fields were partly flooded but thankfully no real damage.
