Life through the lens...

The mussel men.

Some blippers might guess where we are from the photos.

We have come to North Norfolk for a short break. Staying at our very favourite B&B.

Had a little setback when we discovered a nail in one of the tyres as we loaded the car.
However a local garage changed it straight away. We needed a new one as it couldn’t be repaired. So delayed by 20mins.
Then a holdup on the A1 delayed us a further 30 mins.
However we eventually reached the Crab Hut at Brancaster Staithe and had a delicious crab sandwich and dish of cockles for a late lunch.
Followed this with a short two mile walk along the coastal path, which is where we saw the egret, Brent geese and Curlew.
Also passed the contraption ( see photo) used for cleaning the mussels, which are then placed in the orange containers in the pool to cleanse them.
Can’t wait to have some later. We always regard Brancaster mussels as the best of all.

We arrived at our B&B about 5 pm and Alison was waiting for us with a pot of tea and a large slice of freshly baked coconut and passion fruit cake. Yummy! Always a warm and friendly welcome.
It’s so good to be back.
