Winter visitor

The arrival of this pheasant in the garden is the first of our winter wildlife visitors, a sure sign the temperature is dropping and the ample food supply is becoming scarce.Or it might have escaped the winter shoot.

One we befriended last autumn met an untimely death. It flew into a neighbours window, and the neighbour thinking to do us a good turn, offered it to us.
 
I refused the gift. Of course , it might not have been our pet pheasant. On the other hand….
