When the going gets weird

There's an app for that...

Stills this morning. Then in the afternoon I dropped off a fairly massive box of graphic novels and trade paper backs at Elvis Shakespeare. Hopefully they will exchange these for some extra holiday money. With the added bonus of there being one less massive box of stuff from another life.

In the evening I finally got a chance to check out Leith Late. I'd been working all the previous years.

Although I'm massively behind the idea of it, I personally thought it was mostly a bit *meh*. I really liked the old ambulance depot's exhibition and the people in Leith Walk Barbers where clearly very excited to be part of the event (excellent shop, they should definitely push the non galleries becoming galleries for the night angle).

But Out of the blue should probably not have bothered taking part. We got there about 7.30 and were in time to over-hear a woman exasperatedly telling people there was a performance in progress and that they'd have to come back at ten to nine.

Was there any point taking part in an event which encourages a large number of people to move around a variety of venues, if you're going to shut your doors and not let anyone in for over half the scheduled running time? There was a steady stream of people heading up Dalmeny Street all evening, only to be turned back.

All of which would probably not have been so bad if there hadn't been that woman on the door. Being rude and shirty with people who've taken the time to visit something you are involved with is just stupid.
