Protecting the Crop…..

…….. of grapes in the vineyards. We had a very noisy night. There was a predicted frost and every time I woke up I could hear the distant drumming of the anti-frost wind machines whirring away in not so distant vineyards.
There were helicopters too. Poor pilots up all night flying backwards and forwards over vineyards unprotected by wind machines.
Two helicopters were flying over the vineyards adjacent to the Taylor River stopbanks and grassed berms. It all goes to show how valuable grapes are to Marlborough, if not New Zealand.
