Eye to Eye

Face of a Flamingo

… but first, huge thanks for the amazing response to yesterday’s running horses, it feels like a blip birthday day! I am not even going to attempt to thank people individually, not enough energy left, apologies!

After a 05:30 start, we did not see the full moon setting and the skies were grey but the flamingos had come quite near the edges of the salt pans which made portraits possible. I wish you could hear the squabbling noise they were making as they get ready for the breeding season. I have added a flight shot, and the tallest bird showing off the red undersides of his wings.

By 10am I was on the road and am enjoying being home after a 6 hour  drive. The cats are calm and loving but occasionally skitter off as furniture is blown over on the balcony. It’s a really strong foehn wind tonight. Rain will start when it stops!

Hope you had a great weekend too.
