Material Power: Palestinian embroidery

Kettle’s Yard has just concluded a three month run of the most impactful and moving exhibition I’ve ever been to, showcasing a century of incredible embroidery by Palestinian women. These works proclaim the history, location, identity and politics of the makers, throughout the turbulent decades of the 20th century. It couldn’t be a more timely experience.
I’m very sad the exhibition is now moving on to the Whitworth in Manchester but also excited at the prospect of seeing it again there.

What is happening in Gaza and the West Bank is utterly horrific and, dare I say, barbaric. Obviously I don't condone Hamas’s horrendous killing spree but Israel’s thirst for revenge is frightening
