TSS Earnslaw …..

….. ….. ….. getting up a head of steam to cross over Lake Whakatipu.

TSS Earnslaw is a 1912 Edwardian twin screw steamer based at Lake Wakatipu in New Zealand. It is one of the oldest tourist attractions in Central Otago, and the only remaining commercial passenger-carrying coal-fired steamship in the southern hemisphere. Wikipedia.

I went into Queenstown early, for an appointment at the opticians. Sometimes the traffic is so bad on Ladies Mile that a 20 minute trip can take an hour or more. This morning it only took 20 minutes!, so Missy and I walked around the town, enjoying taking in the sights. I don’t often do the tourist things but thoroughly enjoyed it this morning.

I did some shopping at Five Mile after the appointment - new walking shoes. They’re proving to be good already.
A cuppa & friand with a friend at the Country Club was very welcome - it was an interesting morning. I photographed a gorgeous peony at the Country Club - it’s in Extras.
