From Day to Day....

Storm Ciaran hits Guernsey!

Guernsey suffered the effects of Storm Ciaran early this morning. Torrential rain and super strong winds that shook our house! We only had a slate off and two heavy pots blown off our front steps. Others had more. There were 70 trees blown down across our small island, many of which were across roads cutting people off. Flooding occurred in some places too and roofs were affected as was scaffolding. Thankfully no injuries. Jersey got the worst of it. My brother’s greenhouse seen here was ok at 5.30am and 2 hours later was crushed. A large pain of glass ended up on the lawn and smashed. We spent ages with dustpan and brush sweeping it up for the sake of the dog and cat! The sea was still boiling 3 hours after high tide but we did have a rainbow later in the day! Not much sleep last night and lots of noise!
