World Of Wedgwood

The weather was rotten today but that didn't matter, we had seen the forecast and had planned a return visit to The World of Wedgwood.

When we were here in September we didn't have time to do the Factory Tour so that was on our plan for the day. We started in the cafe with coffee and scones with jam and cream.

The tour was well organised with a guide and video screens at all the strategic stages to show close up working of the processes.

We weren't allowed to take photos in the studio but we were allowed to take photos of their studio photos in the corridor outside as well as in the museum. I've chosen to match up a blip of a 1790s Borghese vase with a modern day piece up in the studio on their display wall. Some styles don't change! The reason it looks a bit strange is, there's a photograph in the cabinet behind the vase.

We went for lunch to the nearby Plume of Feathers pub owned by Neil Morrisey. He might have "behaved badly" in the past but he's got a team in the kitchen working very well now. Best place for a pub meal - anywhere!

It was so wet this afternoon we returned to the caravan where we were warm and dry, just so annoying not to have any internet access at all on our phones. This blip has been put up from a car park in the centre of Stone.
