a lifetime burning

Last Day

After a largely wet week, it was a real plus to wake up to a dry day, even if it was the last one for this trip to the Lake District.

The major part of the morning was taken up with achieving a shot of Warnscale Bothy, looking over Buttermere and Crummock Water.  But before that, it seemed a shame not to get a shot of Derwent Water looking beautifully still, before dawn this morning.

That done, at 3pm it was time to start the long motorway journey home.  Travelling home on a Friday night was never going to be ideal, but I couldn't face wasting the opportunity that this morning's fine weather provided.
