Fight for the best nest

I did some gardening this afternoon and it was accompanied by a loud squawking soundtrack.

Jackdaws nest in the chimneys of the cottages bordering my garden and they're prime bird housing stock.  Three pairs of them were squabbling over this chimney pot and others were flying around and perching on the roof sqawking - cheering them on perhaps!  It went on for some time but I don't know who won as they all look the same to me!
