Progress

G has made good progress today.  The “fireplace” wall is now insulated and covered in gib board, ready to be tiled and become a feature wall.  The wall opposite, which had old, tired double doors in it is now a proper, blank wall, insulated and covered in gib board ready to be stopped and painted.  The big decision now is what colour to paint the walls.  Tomorrow he’ll start on the three ceiling areas that need to be insulated, covered in gib board, stopped and painted.  Also tomorrow there’s going to be a site inspection ahead of the installation of the radiator heating system.

I went for a walk into town to purchase tickets to see “That Bloody Woman” at the Ōamaru Opera House - the story of Kate Sheppard who led New Zealand women to be the first in the world to get the opportunity to vote.  It’s a musical of sorts, told through rap, rock, R&B, gospel and even a touch of disco.  It should be interesting.

MrMacD meanwhile continued digging and is now almost at the point where he can start making the “floor” level, ready to be concreted.  He’s done an amazing job.  I did a bit of bucket brigade again to help out.
