The End of Banknote Production

Recently the paper factory, which specialised in producing very complex paper for banknotes, closed down. I'd never been round the site and it is all fenced off and patrolled now, but I snatched this shot through the wire mesh fence.

I decided to play with a few of the in-camera editing tools and felt that this setting gave a nod to the muted colours found in many fivers from before the plastic era.

Hopefully the site will be used for some sort of industry rather than housing, because a large number of local people lost their jobs and we need more local employment opportunities.
