a lifetime burning

Autumnal

We met Brendan and Sarah for lunch in Corsham, Incredibish and Happy_Janwen were due to join us, but pulled out as at least one of them has a winter cold that is at the "unpleasant to be around" stage. I gather from a GP acquaintance that there are some really quite virulent colds around just at the moment, and that the isolation caused by covid means that many of us don't have the same level of immunity to them that we once did.  All of which is a long winded way of saying that although we very much missed their company, we were glad that they stayed away!  The four of us that did make it had a very pleasant time and hope to do something similar again soon, but next time with all 6 of us.

The day improved as it went on, and by the time this shot of Corsham church was taken, the golden low side light really did make the autumn foliage look particularly attractive.  It's a bit of a "postcard" shot,  but I like it.
