We are all under the same moon

The new moon rises with the sun, is high in the sky with the sun and sets with the sun. We can't see the true new moon, ie no moon, because the sun is lighting up its other side.

We can be aware of the new moon during an eclipse of the sun, as the disc of the new moon so neatly covers the disc of the sun. I saw this happen in 2019 in Chile and I took a photo of it with my Lumix Panasonic (extra).

Today, 13 November 2023, is a new moon all over the world. We can't see it but we can see each other. My main shows two people and a dog just before sunset and today, as it happens, moonset. They and you and I are all under the same moon.

Thanks for hosting Carolina.
