A view from Jeanneb

Fallen and falling

A very misty murky start to today’s early walk. We knew from blips earlier in the week from Wilsden Walker and Wendles56’s that there were trees blown down across the main path  through the St Ives woods past Lady Blantyre’s Rock during Storm Debi  on Monday. This is the area that has been cleared of many diseased trees recently so the remaining ones, mainly birches, have been left vulnerable,

They were still there blocking the way so we had to do a bit of climbing and limboing to get through. ( Left hand pictures)

Later as we walked down towards the golf club you could see the remaining leaves falling, still quite colourful.

Despite the poor weather, at least it wasn’t pouring,  it was a good walk culminating in feeding the swans and ducks on Coppice Pond.

(See corinthian column here - you can see her in my blip on the left.)
