Services With a View

This afternoon Miss K and I came up to the Lake District for the Great North Swim tomorrow.
We are both useless when it comes to organisation so we left it far to late too sort out booking our accommodation and all that was left that didn't cost a fortune was the Days Inn on Junction 37 on the M6.
On the weekend of Father's Day and the Great North Swim, who'd have thought it'd be busy?!!
We did not have high hopes for the hotel - especially as after Miss K had booked the room she noticed it said the maximum occupancy was one even though she'd booked a twin.
And even more especially after we realised it was on the Southbound carriageway and, of course, we were coming north.
Not a triumph of a booking!!
But it's actually lovely. It's on a beautiful lake, has a Roadchef and a Costa, millions of rabbits, a WHSmith selling trashy magazines, a kettle and a TV in the room. What more could we possibly want?!!
We had dinner (ham, egg and chips) overlooking this beautiful view and then took to our beds to read the trashy magazines and watch The Voice.
There are worse ways to spend an evening.
