Nicky and her Nikon

Little Walsingham

I could hear the wind blowing all night and this morning it was much cooler due to that wind. Gavin and I decided to go back to Wells-next-the-sea as it was high tide and I thought I could get some different photos from yesterday. However when we got there it was windy with ripples all over the water so no reflections could be seen, and although it was dry the light was flat and uninteresting so I never took any photos. Instead we got a very good flat white from Wills of Wells before going past the award winning Two Magpies Bakery and buying slices of cake to take back to Tommy and Inca. They had an extensive range of gluten free cakes which was good to see.

We then went to the avenue of gnarled trees that leads into Holkham Estate (see extra). We walked into the estate where we saw wonderful autumn colours. Before going back home we drove past Little Walsingham which is has a long history of religious pilgrimage and is home to the ruins of two medieval monastic houses. This is a view of the main road through the village.

In our absence Inca had gone for a run and ended up running a half marathon - she did it in an amazing time too. We went back to Wells to fetch her before going to our favourite pub The Hero at Burnham Overy Staithe for a Sunday roast - they do an excellent roast there, with plenty of very well cooked vegetables, not overcooked and bland as they often are prepared.

Then we left to come home, Tommy and Inca are staying until Thursday. Inca is studying for her upcoming exams and they will enjoy the change of scenery there.

Now home, washing on and we have unpacked. I will catch up with journals tomorrow.
