Gently down the stream

The lookout tree

This was the lookout tree in the reserve this morning. There were incredible flashes of sunlight inbetween rather longer spells of grey.  And yes, it looks as though I've increased colour saturation but infact I've slightly lowered it.  Beautiful.

However, as far as birds go, it was very surprising to see and hear a pair of reed warblers - they certainly should have gone by now - and fun watching a jay chase off a rather persistent magpie - but the birds were largely invisible, despite the rate at which leaves are falling.  The circular path is still extremely wet and in one place the river's washing it away.

So that's it.  Nothing much else to report, except that it looks as though Duke will be back with us tonight.

Enjoy the rest of your day and your evening  xx
