Great winter colour!

In the supermarket today I was tempted to pick up a Poinsettia to brighten up the living room ... then I remembered these home raised plants :-)    Raised from seed sown early in 2022, they first flowered last winter.  After a warm, dry summer dormancy under the greenhouse benches, I gave them a drink when I spotted new growth buds forming, maybe it was the end of August.  Brought along slowly in the greenhouse until a month or so ago, these moved to the porch when the flower buds pushed up and indoors soon after.  There's quite a few more in the pipeline so I will have colour all winter.

A morning to myself evaporated quickly in a run of phone calls, messages and emails.  All positive news though.  Someone will measure up for replacement door and windows at Ruth's on Wednesday and I had a call from one of the directors of the firm who will do the work.  By the end of the morning, the firm had received the most up to date version of the plans and we'd been reassured that these would be implemented .... Yes, the first call alerted me to the need to sort that out!   Got a feeling there may be some more wrinkles to iron out but hopefully today we averted others!

A short visit to pottery got another coat of glaze on the two pieces heading for their final firing.  Time ran out before I could add the final coat as I had to pick Jamie up from Machynlleth.   Back from his weekend in Norfolk after a night at Ruth's, he had an appointment with the respiratory nurse at Bronglais hospital in Aberystwyth this afternoon.   We headed to Morrison's first for a hot lunch, the appointment went really well, formulating a new plan for controlling his asthma cough.   Home for a snooze and next a quiet evening at Jamie's.

Meg ate and drank much more normally this morning and has been more her normal self.  Seems she bruised her tongue and possibly the back of her throat but hopefully this will continue to heal on it's own.
