Sunrise over The Farm

We were up and out earlier than usual this morning, so found ourselves walking along the outside of the wood as the sun was rising behind the farm on the hill.
It was the most beautiful morning to be out. Frosty, ( I had to scrape the car), no wind and glorious sunshine. The air was crisp and clear.
We spotted a group of three roe deer who saw us too, but were far enough away not to be startled. Further on we spotted a red squirrel on the ground, and followed it as it climbed up the tree and made its way across the tree canopy. Then another red squirrel we heard scrabbling in a tree, and he kept a close eye on us as he climbed to the top of a fir tree and perched on a bushy spot in the sun. I imagined it with a cache of tasty goodies up there.
