A time for everything

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thursday 23 November
It was a beautiful day, so we left the chef, Jason, hard at work in the kitchen, and drove about 1 hour 20 minutes south to Pine Mountain to enjoy the sun and do some hiking. It was a good hike up to the summit, about 750 feet elevation gain, nothing too steep, but up hill all the time, so I had to stop for several breathers! We enjoyed the view from the top, then the girls decided they were going to do some more, but I decided I’d had enough, so Roger and I returned down hill via a different route, and waited for them at the bottom. While we at the top there were a couple of other groups up there, including one family speaking with English accents. So Roger had to go talk to them. The husband was actually originally from Scotland, the wife, English, with some French and Italian background, together with their three children. The husband is a software engineer with Honeywell and they have lived in the Atlanta area for six years, and previously they had lived in India, and a couple of Asian countries, so I’m not sure how the children, two of whom were teenagers perceive themselves, nationality - wise!
When we returned to Jen and Jason’s, dinner wasn’t quite ready, so since we’d had no lunch we had some cheese and crackers to keep us going, then later tucked into a delicious dinner!
Thankful tonight for wonderful scenery and a son-in-law who’s a great chef!
