La vida de Annie

By Annie

Libro de familia.

We went to the town hall to collect our family book from the wedding. This is instead of a marriage certificate, looks a bit like a pet passport, and after the page recording the event has no less than 6 blank pages to register any subsequent children (!), and a page for our deaths. In Spain a woman does not take her husband’s name, and all Spanish people have two surnames: that of the father followed by the mother’s father.
I got a message from #1 son: “Have you changed your name Mum?” My reply was “No, I’m still Mum”.
