Common Enchantments

Today’s book

October in the Earth by Olivia Hawker

In Depression era Kentucky a wronged wife takes to the rails as a hobo to find freedom and self respect.

When you read a line in a book that speaks to who you are.

"The road carried me like the slow drift of a crick in summertime, and together we parted the shadows of the forest, that road and me; we climbed above the valley with its fur of yellow haze, up into the breeze and the birdsongs where I could hear the faintest whisper of my heart."

This might be a can not put it down book. I might be up late tonight.

I just finished One for the Blackbird, One for the Crow by this same author. It was a good read!
