A short walk

S convinced me to go on a short walk this morning, from Guajar Faragüit up to the castle. We've been there before, but we  just did a shortened version of the walk today, to the castle and back the same way. It was short but steep! Stats: 3.5 km, 250 m climbing, 2 1/4 hours, including sitting at the castle admiring  the view. This is the view from Guajar Faragüit to Guajar Fondón. Extra on Flickr: a view glimpsed in the village as we set off.

We were hungry by the time we got back down to the car, so we returned via Velez de Benaudalla in order to have lunch at the restaurant by the spring. This used to be a pool with a gentle trickle of water keeping the water clear. Now the trickle is absent and it's a rather sad, stagnant, and muddy mess. It was still nice enough weather to sit outside, where we shared the usual gigantic Andalusian salad with grilled goat's cheese, salt cod with tomato sauce and allioli, and a bit of cheesecake to finish us off. No more food required for the rest of the day after that.

As we'd set off quite late for our walk, it was 5 pm by the time we got home. Where we were treated to yet another amazing sunset.
