Seat with a view

In the midst of Manesty woods, there's a headland into the Lake, on the end of which is this bench with a fabulous view across Derwentwater. When a guest was up a few weeks back scattering her late husbands ashes - it was a little too slippery for her to get here. So today I walked out with some of his ashes and scattered them by the bench - a spot he loved.

I can see why. My original intention was to paddleboard over the lake to the spot, as "K" would not have seen the lake from that angle, but temperatures of -6 degrees made me think the "on foot" route was more sensible!
