Messy

I knew my blip today as soon as I saw DDW's topic today "Messy", built in a sculptor made of iron at the marina, this is a classic case of a nest built in the wrong place at the wrong time, not just any birds nest this was to be our resident Ospreys nest to house their upcoming family, "nice residential area, upper floor with a view, perfect weather conditions" daddy Osprey must have thought? WRONG!! he got three out of four right, the time spent building it was perfect weather conditions, the nest was finished months ago now, we saw two proud Ospreys heads popping over the nest awaiting their new arrival/s then the worst thing happened, an unexpected cyclone hit Newman, Port Hedland, causing destruction of property, its a two hour flight from Perth, we were caught in the fringe of the cyclone which was bad enough, the nest was wrecked in a heart beat, it caught the full blast from the fringe of the cyclone with no protection of any kind and wide open to the elements, this is all that remains of their nest, we thought the Ospreys would move to another suburb after that? but no, they decided to build further along the coast around the rock face that was more sheltered, there has been sightings of one chick, alas we have only seen the parents so far but I walk down to the front every day camera in hand, one day i might be lucky enough to see the three of them, before junior flies the nest and makes his own way in the world. Lets hope his dad tells him not to build his nest in a wide open spot!
