Seattle Vacation: Day 7 …

… Chihuly Glass Museum and Space Needle.

Today was another full day spent mostly in Seattle proper.
We had purchased tickets for the Space Needle for the afternoon so we did have a relaxing morning in and around the hotel area before heading back to Seattle.

We took a picnic lunch and ate sitting outside the Space Needle before going to the Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum.  And, boy, was this museum worth the time and money! We had purchased a combo ticket with the museum and the Space Needle so it wasn’t all that expensive.  And when you are in Seattle you simply have to do the Space Needle and this museum.

My main collage is of just some of the amazing glass work by glass artist Dale Chihuly.  The colors were so vibrant and beautiful … but hard to capture in a photograph.

We spent a couple of hours here wandering around inside and in the outside glass garden before heading over to the Space Needle … they are right next to each other.

The Space Needle was AMAZING!  We had a great time there and spent hours at the top!  The collage in Extra is a very small sampling of the many, many pictures I took.  The one in lower right is looking down through the transparent floor!  Love it! The middle left photo shows both Lumen Field (Seahawks stadium) and T-Mobile Park … home to the Seattle Mariners.

Speaking of the Mariners … after leaving the Space Needle we drove over to T-Mobile Park as we have tickets to their game tonight.  And I have to say … I think I enjoyed this experience more than yesterday’s Seahawks game … at a fraction of the cost! The crowd didn’t stand the entire game! But I think we are bad luck for the Seattle teams as the Mariners also lost the game tonight … which we heard on the radio since we actually left before the end of the game.

We wanted to try and beat the crowd and traffic out of the game.  Thankfully we were able to beat the traffic and made it back to our hotel by 9:45 pm.  But we really had a fantastic day … even though it was a busy one.

Backblipped: December 4 … yes, December! And it’s about time, too!
