A bag of bones

With the help of friends, went to A&E in Bath this morning where I was seen promptly and received very good care. All four medics (triage nurse, paramedic practitioner, two radiographers) who took at look at my bruised and swollen foot immediately predicted a break, yet two different sets of X-rays showed nothing. X-rays were even run by a senior radiologist to double check, yet nothing. Conclusion: severe soft tissue damage which I was told can be as painful and last as long as a break, 4-6 weeks. Told to keep foot elevated and rest as much as poss; if only! Arrived and was discharged within two and a half hours after being checked from head to toe, literally!!

Taxi home along flooded roads, not surprising as we’ve had torrential rain all day. The garden is a quagmire and there is a red flood warning for the River Chew that flows through town.
