a lifetime burning

Spoonbills

Another early start saw me get to Steart Marshes in time for dawn this morning.  Unfortunately the dawn failed to turn up as some heavy cloud came in its place.  I spent most of the day waiting for little patches of brightness to enable me to take some decent photos.  In the event my day was saved by the arrival of about 3 minutes of late afternoon sunshine just as I was about to pack up.

The main is a pair of spoonbills fishing.  The extra is what happens when something spooks the lapwings and they all go up in the air together.  That's Hinkley C you can see in the background.
