Gently down the stream

Getting it all wrong

..mostly!

Today the sun was supposed to shine.  I waited and waited and in the end went out anyway.  Because the light was bad I left the 600ml and took the 400 plus teleconverter as being less fussy.  Then, of course, the sun came out anyway..  But I did get a shot of the kingfisher for the first time this winter.  I've seen it flashing up and down the waterways several times over the last month, then suddenly there it was.  Briefly.  Two shots and it was gone!  I already know we won't have the sightings and opportunities we had last winter.  That bird was a star, but eventually got killed by another, it's poor little corpse found under the bridge.  But still, here is this one - hooray!

Thanks for all your lovely comments, hearts and stars for Bramble yesterday.  He is settling down - as is Hazel - they will be fine together.  At the moment though, he is still jumping around on his hindlegs like a meercat.  That's going to take time to cure.

Happy Wednesday evening  xx
