Cedar waxwings

Thursday
We enjoyed a beautiful mild sunny day today. I spent the morning decorating our larger real tree in the living room and doing my Duolingo, then we felt we had to get out to enjoy the sunshine. Tomorrow there should be more cloud, and then Saturday is forecast to be wet. We drove over to Fernald Preserve on the west side of town, for a birding walk. The main pond was full of ducks of various sorts and several swans (see extra). Then we went for a 3 mile walk, and it was during the latter part of this I was thrilled to see this group of Cedar waxwings nicely illuminated up in a tree - the first time I’ve been able to photograph them. They weren’t there for too long before they flew off.
We then had to get home, and have a cup of tea and a snack before leaving for Handbell practice which was early tonight, at 5.30 instead of 6 pm, followed by choir at 7 pm. It was a late dinner when we got home.
