Mitchell Park Domes

Mitchell Park Domes are actually a "horticultural conservatory", but most Milwaukeans just call them "The Domes". Each dome houses it's own climate--one is a desert, one tropical, & one has floral displays that change with the seasons (i.e.--Easter lillies in the spring, pointsettias in the winter, etc.). The original conservatory was opened in 1899, but was torn down in 1955 & these 3 beehive shaped glass domes were built in it's place. It's a fabulous place to take macro shots of cactus & all types of flowers in any type of weather!
