Out in the Rain

You've heard of "Singing in the Rain??" Well, this is the Goose version, called "Standing in the Rain!" Ha! (& he's not standing in a little stream--that's the sidewalk, covered in rain!) Again last night we had terrible thunder storms pass through! According to the weathermen, it was the same storm that caused the tornadoes in Nebraska, & it was slowly making its way across the Midwest. It had been raining steadily for about an hour, & it was close to midnight when there was a HUGE crack of lightening--totally unexpected--nearly gave me a heart attack--our power went off & everything was dark for about 15 seconds, then the power came on, went off, then came back on & stayed on. The air smelled of electrical burn, so we weren't sure what was hit. We had thunder & lightening for over an hour before it moved out over the lake. We'd just fallen asleep when it started all over again! I couldn't sleep after that, as not only was the thunder deafening, it was like there was a strobe light outside of our window--that's how much lightening was flashing! Worse storm I can remember in recent years! Rained all night, stopped briefly this morning, then as we left to run some errands, the sky became black as night, & torrential rains started up again! Gradually the skies lightened up, but the rain has persisted. After we finished our errands, we drove down to the lakefront & saw the geese standing in the pouring rain.....I rolled down the window & took a couple shots, rolled it back up & we headed home! That's it for today--I'm inside to stay!
