Great Spotted Woodpecker ( Dendrocopos major )

Another dark, damp, dismal day.  I knew the conditions weren't good for birds in flight shots but decided to try anyway.  There were lots of Blue Tits and a bit of squabbling over places.

While I was trying for the inflight shots a Great Spotted Woodpecker arrived.  It perched in the Magnolia where I have been hoping to get a shot of it.  No chance of altering settings so I took a shot.

Two extras one for amusement value and one because I like it.
