Slow worm

Apparently these reptiles are mostly active during twilight, but this one was perhaps foxed by the thick tree shade at the bottom of Glen Kin this afternoon. Whatever brought it out onto the track, it was a very lucky slow worm, as a huge lorry carrying the kind of machinery used in forest operations had just trundled right over where it lay. If it has gone Amy further, it would have been a very flat worm indeed...
