Buddha’s Hand

Our little tree made only one fruit this year, but it’s as big as a large baby’s head! It’s also very prone to molding, so I’ve been doing surgery on one of the fingers to try and stay ahead of the gangrene. In the meantime I love looking at the mindless intricacy. It’s not a fruit that you eat, but a kind of citron. There is no juicy stuff inside, just very fragrant white pulp, and the rind can be used for flavoring, like any citrus peel. The fruit is said to bring good luck in the new year, so I guess we’re set.
