An ordinary life....

David always says flexibility is the key to a good plan and today that was very true :-)

Blipper Withers was heading north with her husband Jim to stay with LeeAnne at Netherbyres in Eyemouth, where she is house sitting (but will soon move there) to collect their wing back chair that LeeAnne was re-upholstering for them  (are you keeping up? :-))

D had promised to take Jim golfing at Eyemouth after dropping me and my crochet off at Netherbyres (Jane is my crochet buddy and demanded to see my latest project) and we were willing to brave the sub-zero temperatures in the house (new central heating currently being fitted so no radiators) for a night, maybe two if we avoided frostbite the first night, but Alan not feeling well meant we didn't want to be so far away so sadly messaged to say we couldn't go.

But we are nothing if not solution focussed and after brief discussion, it was decided they would come to us and David and Jim would play the King's course at Gleneagles instead. They arrived on time at 10.30am to sausage, black pudding and bacon rolls.

Once faces were stuffed, D and Jim headed off to play golf.  There was even some blue sky!  I was stuck with these two, which is a real test for my pelvic floor!  Nonsense and laughter abound!

The day flew by and yes, Jane and I did crochet.  To be fair Jane was finishing a lap blanket LeeAnne started earlier this year that she had crocheted SO tightly there were literally no gaps between the clusters. It was stiff as a board!  How she didn't end up with RSI we will never know.  Anyhoo, Jane used up the rest of the yarn crocheting a lovely soft edge on it, that looks like a frill.  The cat will love it!  :-))

We managed to get a table booked at Delivino, our favourite local Italian restaurant, so once the golfers returned and had coffee and malteser slice caught their breath, we headed there for dinner.

We have taken many friends there over the years and have never been let down by the food or the service and tonight was no exception.  Such a welcoming atmosphere, amazing food (we all had three courses!) and great fun with the team there.  They are good sports.

Back home just after 8pm and waved the other three off back to Eyemouth.  There was talk of meeting up with them in Edinburgh tomorrow but between Alan not being well and the horrible weather forecast, we gave it a rain check.

So, not the day that was planned, but brilliant fun none the less :-))
