Glad Lucia to all the Swedes out there!

I have not been feeling very much in the Christmas spirit this year. Normally by this point all the lights and the goodwill are making me feel all sparkly inside. Not so this year, though. Not that I'm all bah humbug about it, just feeling like I could probably skip this one and look forward to next Christmas instead.

But one thing I do love celebrating each year is Luciadagen. We bake Swedish "lussekatter" and sit down to watch the annual broadcast on SVT, with lights and candles and general cosiness. There's something about the image of light in darkness that always feels so special.
