Mother Shipton

West Coast Light

I love the light on this shot. and the contrasts. The yellow in the foreground is birds foot trefoil and the mountains at the back are the Mamores.

It was taken in the middle of the afternoon while I was working in a very remote bay in the shore of Loch Linnhe. we had sunshine and dark clouds but no rain.

Lots of butterflies flying in the sun including chequered skipper, green hairstreak, small heath, and small pearl bordered fritillary. Lots of orchids in flower including small white and lesser butterfly orchid which are not common. I feel privileged to work in such fantastic inaccessible places.
