Guarding the door

There was sunshine first thing .. went up around St Andrews Square on the way to get the newspaper. There's a pair of these toy soldiers in front of what's now the Edinburgh Grand (apartment hotel). 

Walked down the Trinity path to Newhaven then in to the Foot of the Walk; back by tram to heat mincepies for visiting neighbours from the building. They've had electricians and joiners and decorators in; good to get references to their contractors for what we want to do to ours.
