A little bit of uplift

We thought the weather couldn’t get any worse. It did. A wetter than wet day. Heavy rain, lowering skies and absolutely miserable.

We were deterred? Not a bit of it. We walked out for breakfast at the Cavendish cafe then on into town through the deserted and sodden Mote Park. We concluded all our business satisfactorily, had a coffee, passed through the innovatively named The Mall Shopping Mall where today’s only colour could be seen and walked home.

Barbara and David arrived from Edinburgh (via an overnight stop in Peterborough) while we were out and went to see Doreen before we got back. They’re still there now and we’re out for dinner at 6.00pm so we may not see them until tomorrow.

Susan caught up on some ironing while I made a second visit to John to try and resolve his problems with the Thunderbird (it’s like Outlook) mail app. I got a bit further in that Thunderbird worked if Windows was started in safe mode and Thunderbird in troubleshooting mode, but not in any other combination.

Then I found that mail from Thunderbird could not be sent owing to an outgoing mail server issue. Neither was an email I sent received by him. The last email in his inbox was on 17/12/23. Any IT experts out there able to suggest the next steps?
