Farewell Aunt Jean

We’ve had a chilly but sunny day. Not much accomplished on Christmas preparations. My sister and BIL stopped by briefly to deliver fresh cut greenery for Kim. We left for Baltimore a little before 10:00 so we could stop at my bank and pick up everyone’s vacation money (part of their Christmas gift). We had a smooth trip and got lunch on the way. We arrived early but let my cousin George (Aunt Jean’s last surviving child) go in first. We paid our respects, chatted with George and others and then headed home. All the comments centered around how well Aunt Jean accepted the painful crosses she was given in life. She’s been a widow since age 42 and lost two of her three sons at an early age. The prayer George chose for her memorial card is quite appropriate. May she now rest in peace. We are heading home in rush hour traffic and will be late for our meeting; the WARM coordinator is aware and understands. All we really need is a layout and rules list for the building where the homeless will be sleeping since our shift will be from 10:30 pm until 3:00 am. We’ll find dinner on the way home from the meeting. Hubby has to be at the surgery center at 6:00 am tomorrow so we must get to bed early tonight. We are both dragging. Hope you had a pleasant day. Thanks for the visit. “Aunts are like stars, providing twinkling moments of joy and inspiration in our lives.” – Deb Caletti
