Tiny Angel

He's not an ornament but one of a pair of earrings. They aren't explicitly seasonal, but I always wear them at Christmas time.

It's not exactly surprising that neither one of us slept very well last night, but it wasn't the state of our heating ducts that kept us awake, well, not John anyway. He blamed it on Too Many Christmas Cookies. He's not quite as able to live up to the nickname of 'cookie monster' given him by the kids when they were small and he was younger!

We turned the heat on this morning for a little while, but I couldn't stand the idea of all the heat escaping through ruined ducts so we've just been cold all day. While we were doing our Pilates class my exercise bike arrived a day early in a very large, very heavy box. Bless the UPS guy for bringing it into the house and not leaving it on the porch in the rain. Putting it together kept us busy, and somewhat warm, for a good part of the day. The assembly consisted of a very complicated looking schematic drawing with random numbers on different parts and comprehensive but not very well translated  instructions. It's no Peloton but it should get the job done.

It's going to be an exciting day tomorrow as the rat abatement team will be here. They apparently talked to the Moore HVAC people because they called to say they were loading all our new ducts onto their truck and would be here tomorrow to install them. It's going to be very busy in a small space under our house if John understood correctly. The activity alone might be enough to cause the rodents to abandon ship.

Somehow, instead of getting closer, Christmas celebrations seem to be
receding. At least we have a pretty good excuse for being unprepared....
