and the rhythms of paths

The rear-biased uprightish position of the sparebike has been exaggerated by putting the original handlebar back on, moving the seat backwards, moving the seat upwards and probably rotating the handlebar a bit too far rearwards, resulting in the impression of there being little more than the weight of the front rack holding the front wheel on the ground, resulting in extreme gingerness when turning through acute angles on wet cobbles on the way to the shop. The eventual eventual aim is to give it the same bar-type and weight-spread as properbike on something with fatter wheels but that will have to wait for organisation of a rebuilt wheel with a cassetted hub in place of the current freewheel, so in the meantime it'll maybe get an experimental flat bar and perhaps a new stem if I can find one in the Bike Station. Perhaps the difference is only so noticeable when attempting routes usually undertaken on the much more adept-seeming properbike.
