grumpy little starfish

Despite the presence of several stalls containing sweets as prizes the wingpiglet was successfully prevented from getting hold of anything too hazardous at his nursery open day and even managed to insist upon being a starfish when getting his face painted despite it being a good few hours after he decided that's what he wanted when asked if he'd like his face painted just after having his teeth brushed in the bathroom, around the middle of which there is a line of tiles with pictures of starfish, sea-horses and seashells. Apart from the bits cleared by dribble and intervening activities it was still there this afternoon when I popped out to pick up my ticket for the evening's activities from the Hub, only to find that my ticket was no longer there (despite taking care to arrive during opening hours after being a couple of minutes late when I popped past on my way home yesterday), that it could only be picked up from the venue in the half-hour preceding the performance and that I had therefore just dragged the boy up the hill on a bike not ideally-handlebarred for dragging boys up hills for nothing. Fortunately I remained calm and merely slightly annoyed with the poor chump at the ticket desk, despite him having done some annoying of his own by pretending that his desk was shut for the first five minutes we spent waiting for the only other staffed desk to become clear of the person conducting a complicated compound festival-transaction.

When I eventually returned (on the quicker bike, arriving with minutes to spare after fortunately leaving it outside and ready earlier in the evening) the thing turned out to be quite interesting.
