Am Faochagach - south towards Fannich hills

Am Faochagach (953m)
The name of this rounded mountain translates as 'the place of the shells', which is odd as there were certainly none to be found. But we did find a Mountain Hare and several Dotterel on the top.

Today was pretty breezy with occasional showers, so reverting to type for West Coast weather, but at least it kept the dreaded midgies at bay. The route involves several miles of bog and a river crossing between two lochs. This was one reason we chose today as the recent weather has been dry and we could get across without getting wet feet.
